Directed and produced by multiple award-winning documentarian Susan Lacy, Very Ralph, the first documentary portrait of fashion icon Ralph Lauren, will air on HBO November 12 at 9 p.m EST.
Very Ralph offers viewers unprecedented access to the life of the man behind one of the most successful empires in fashion history. The designer speaks candidly in extensive interviews about his journey as a boy from the Bronx to becoming one of the most recognisable figures in the industry, his five-decade-long marriage, the early days of his company, his response to criticism, his inventive ad campaigns and his pioneering vision. 'Fashion has to be desirable, and Ralph sees that and understands that', said Anna Wintour of Lauren.
The documentary also features vivid archives from 50 years of the fashion brand, as well as intimate, revealing interviews with Lauren’s family, long-standing colleagues and other notables, including Anna Wintour, Karl Lagerfeld, André Leon Talley, Naomi Campbell, Martha Stewart, Hillary Clinton, Jason Wu, Calvin Klein, and many others.
