Kiko Kostadinov & Asics Release Final Collaborative Trainer
Today, ASICS and Kiko Kostadinov release their final womenswear collaborative sneaker, the GEL-TESERAKT. Following a two year long working relationship which has produced over ten different ASICS trainer models, the GEL-TESERAKT will be the final co-branded collaboration. Kiko fans should fear not however, as come November, a new line, co-authored by the London-based men's and womenswear brand and the Japanese trainer company, will be released in the form of the UB1-S GEL-KAYANO 14.
The final collaborative trainer released today, the GEL-TESERAKT, was first seen at the A/W 20 womenswear show, which investigated warped perceptions and Gestalt theory. Similarly, the trainer also plays with the idea of dimensionality. For this collaboration the Fannings kept the upper of the trainer minimal, instead placing a focus on the sole of the shoe. Both colour-ways follow a tri-tonal colour scheme; the black's sole features turquoise, lime green and a hint of electric pink which also runs through the sand colour-way alongside a light cream and rich plum colour, true to the womenswear palette we see each season. The design also shares the same FLYTEFOAMTM technology propel midsole from Kiko Kostadinov’s menswear counterpart, as women's and men's continue to inhabit the same extraordinary universe.
