When Alber Elbaz founded AZ Factory in 2019 with backing from Richemont, the late great designer set out to create a label that reflected his collaborative and experimental nature. While Elbaz passed in April 2021, his vision lives on with the brand enlisting the help of a revolving crew of designers with each season known as Amigos. Following collections by South African designer Thebe Magugu and Belgian brand Ester Manas, AZ Factory has plucked Lutz Huelle to continue the brand's collaborative journey.
Riffing on the brand's alphabet and Elbaz's storied camaraderie, Huelle's collection will be titled F is for Friendship. An ode to the brand's values and Amigos we should expect the Parisian designer to seamlessly blend his playful aesthetic with the brand's signature ease and comfortability. The Central Saint Martins graduate founded his eponymous label in 2000 with his partner David Ballu and has become known for reinventing and recontextualising wardrobe staples.
