Renowned fashion designer Thierry Manfred Mugler has art directed and designed the costumes for a new ballet performance in London.

Although having stepped down from his eponymous fashion house in 2003, the name Thierry Manfred Mugler is still one on everybody’s lips - from his Met Gala creations under House of Mugler and retrospective of his work at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts to the accompanying Phaidon publication. Now, the latest work by the fashion icon sees him take his creative mind to the world of ballet.

Resident Royal Ballet choreographer Wayne McGregor has joined forces with the iconic French designer, creating an abstract ballet performance that continues the symbiosis of fashion and dance, as part of an intriguing triple bill performance at London’s Coliseum.

Titled ‘McGregor + Mugler’, the performance headlines the triple bill and sees choreography and direction by McGregor, and art direction and costume design by Mugler with Bolshoi Ballet prima ballerina Olga Smirnova and Royal Ballet principal Edward Watson in the starring roles.

The performances will run from 7 December 2019 - 8 December 2019 at London Coliseum, St Martin's Lane, London, WC2N 4ES.
