Mercedes-Maybach Is Introducing A Haute Couture Car
Mercedes-Benz’s relationship with the fashion industry spans decades. In 1996 the luxury automobile brand began its sartorial obsession by being a patron of Sydney Fashion Week. And who could forget Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week that ran from 2007 to 2015 (a golden age if you ask us)? Already a favourite for any front-rower trekking from show to show, the automobile experts are taking luxury wheels to another level with their latest concept model, the Mercedes-Maybach Haute Voiture. Inspired by the hallowed ateliers of the biggest couture houses, this model is defined by its exceptional materials, exquisite craftsmanship, and exclusivity.
This limited edition model takes cues from fashion’s biggest trends with a colour-blocked exterior of bold nautical blue and contrasting shimmering champagne. The stark white interior is trimmed with sleek Nappa leather and accented with boucle fabric. 'The colour and equipment concept of the Concept Mercedes-Maybach Haute Voiture has never existed before. We’re fusing the art of high fashion and automotive design at the highest level to create something completely new – a true Icon of excellence,' explains Gorden Wagener, Chief Design Officer Mercedes‑Benz Group AG.
Releasing to market in early 2023, new owners can expect a trunk full of couture-inspired goods including a set of barrel bags in differing sizes. With jetsetters in mind, the bags are already packed with handmade garments that coordinate with the car’s interior. ‘Mercedes-Maybach has always been considered a pioneer in defining luxury, style, and status. Maybach customers are looking for something special and our ambition is to exceed their expectations’ says Daniel Lescow, Head of Mercedes‑Maybach.
