Moncler Genius Launch Latest Season with Sergio Zambon
Moncler Genius, an offshoot from the French-founded, Italian based skiwear brand Moncler first created in 2018, has launched their latest season of collections. The project, created in 2018 by Remo Ruffini, invites a selection of designers each year to create innovative pieces using their signature down jacket as inspiration. First up is 2 Moncler 1952 MAN, with designer Sergio Zambon looking to the retro-futuristic atmosphere of Tokyo.
Zambon, a keen storyteller who cut his hand at Fendi and was previously head of menswear at Acne Studios, looked to the Japanese capital to inspire his latest collection for the luxury label. Taking the vibrant atmosphere and lights of the future-facing metropolis, hyper-technical light reflective puffers come in black, orange and a retro print made up of Moncler comic logos and newsprints from 1952 created in collaboration with Karo Akpokiere. Zambon also teamed up with And Wander and Suicoke on outwear and shoes.
Paired with knitted tracksuits, ponchos and duvets, the collection takes indoor wear onto the streets of the city. With nylons, technical organza and ribbed knits also in the mix, several outwear items are made using materials with a lower environmental impact. Visually arresting, warm and protective, the collection is a must for the winter months to come.
