Nebuchadnezzar: A Kanye West Opera

It was only last month we were privy to the London-premiere of Jesus is King: A Kanye West Film - the collaborative project by rapper and designer Kanye West and long-term creative collaborator Nick Knight - and last night West revealed his latest endeavour, his first opera performance.

Named after the longest-reigning King of Babylon ‘Nebuchadnezzar’, Nebuchadnezzar: A Kanye West Opera has been directed by Italian performance artist Vanessa Beecroft, who has worked on numerous projects with West including the Runaway video and his Yeezus Tour, and will take place at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on 24 November.

The artwork posted by West presents a gold plate engraved with an image of the titular Babylonian King, designed by Nick Knight. Thanks to Mark Boyle, Tom Wandrag, Tod Ivanov, and Tom Alexander.
