Fashion's favourite eyewear brand Gentle Monster have just dropped a collaboration with John Galliano's Maison Margiela... the result? A genderless eyewear line that's as experimental as it sounds.
Creativity and self-expression fall front and centre of the Gentle Monster x Maison Margiela eyewear collaboration as both brands seamlessly merge their avant-garde vision to create eyewear for the industry's most stylish. With the likes of Heron Preston and Coperni already under the Korean brand's collaborative belt, adding Maison Margiela with John Galliano to their must-have capsule collection roster marks another success in the brand's ever-expanding luxury portfolio.
Structured in acetate, the designs are interpreted in glossy colours and effects spanning black, white, grey, cream, transparent, and tortoiseshell, encompassing 11 designs. Real threaded details of Maison Margiela's stitch logo embodying the brands' value sit side by side with Gentle Monster's signature bold aesthetic, neither compromising on their signatures but instead elevating each other as inclusivity and fluidity are both spotlighted in an unapologetic manner.
Dropping worldwide on 28 February, the Gentle Monster x Maison Margiela collaboration will be made available online and in-store at Gentle Monster and Maison Margiela locations. Celebrating the anticipated drop, pop-ups will be held in seven cities around the globe: New York, Seoul, Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Singapore, and London. In a limited amount, a special cushion will be handed out to purchasers at the pop-up stores on a first-come, first-served basis. Late February will also see the opening of London's Selfridges pop-up as the space becomes otherworldly, overtaken by colossal animatronic robots.
