Pornhub Demand Safe Porn For All With New Series 'Pornhub Literacy 101'

Let's talk about porn. We all use it, we all know we use it, and yet, we still all remain incredibly silent about it. How can a site (which concurs an average of 100+ million daily viewers) still be vilified by the media? We also know that Pornhub has a dark side - proven by the only time it has made news headlines and seeped into the daily public consciousness is when its underage links have come to light. Sure, the platform may boast a daily average of 100+ million views, but how many viewers are actually aware of their safety while using the site? Since the dawn of the internet, online security has always been important, but when it comes to porn, staying safe online is paramount to the ultimate (fun) and (safe) sex experience.

This is where celebrated founder of The Sex Ed, Liz Goldwyn, comes in. Collaborating with Pornhub on a six-part series of short and snappy YouTube films, the Pretty Things director has directed a glamorous series of public service announcements for the premiere adult entertainment site encouraging healthy engagement with adult content and porn literacy, with styling by Euphoria costume designer Heidi Bivens.

Pornhub Literacy 101 is a comprehensive guide for Pornhub's experienced (and the not so) users, designed to encourage wellness and a healthy global engagement with the adult content it promotes. Speaking in a statement, Goldwyn commented:

'It's important to me and to The Sex Ed to open up dialogue around sex, health, and consciousness to the widest possible audience, and who better to partner with to do so than Pornhub, whose analytics reveal an audience that rivals those of the top mainstream streaming giants?'

The clips themselves are purposefully stylised to reference Hollywood's Golden Era, helped by the flawless styling of Bivens that ties the series together. Speaking of her previous experience when working with porn actors while on jobs before, (such as Chloe Cherry in Euphoria), Bivens remarked, 'While designing costumes for Euphoria, I was impressed by the show runners' openness to casting adult film actors in roles which they might not usually be considered for and treating them with respect and dignity. Liz's work to shift the public consciousness surrounding sex and health promotes safe spaces for people to explore these topics and helps to humanise those involved.'

Pornhub Literacy 101 is the first visual representation of the platform's core values: consent, freedom of sexual expression, authenticity, originality, and diversity. We all use porn; it's time we started owning up to it, encouraging not only a healthier relationship with the platform's content but an honest one, too.
