Update your calendars now - a major Prada exhibition Prada: Front and Back is coming to London's Design Museum next year. Scheduled to open in September 2020, it will be Prada's first major museum exhibition and, as such, will give a never-before-seen view into the Italian brand, its creative approach, and fashion outputs.

According to the Design Museum website, the exhibition will be future-oriented, '[exploring] Prada’s transformation of the idea and practice of fashion, and the continuing evolution of a global enterprise.' While the words 'front and back' from the exhibition's title immediately conjure up the dressmaking process and pattern cutting, the exhibition is seemingly bringing another interpretation: 'Different sections will reflect the idea of front and back, conveying both the surface of fashion and the creative and industrial infrastructure on which it depends.'

With the recent release of Suzannah Frankel's authoritative tome on Prada's runway presentations Prada: The Complete Collections, it's clear that now's a great time to get revising so you know your Linea Rossa from your Re-Nylon.

Tickets for Prada: Front and Back will go on sale Spring 2020 at the Design Museum.
