Revolving around the Prada Symbole handbag, the brand's latest campaign - starring Hunter Schafer - fuses the best of fashion and art.

Tasked with presenting their own take on the bag's distinct silhouette, art's modern masters Catherine Opie, Thomas Ruff and Carrie Mae Weems are the stars of Prada's latest campaign, which also launches model-turned-actress Hunter Schafer back into fashion's limelight.

By taking aim at blurring the invisible boundaries between both the fashion and art worlds - and purposefully choosing three symbolic and powerful names whose work, according to Prada, 'has rarely, if ever, been printed in the form of a fashion campaign', - the Italian luxury house casts a new light on the Symbole, proclaiming it not only as a tote for the fashion industry's most stylish crowd but for all involved in the art world too.

Although Hunter Schafer took a break from their career as a fashion model some time ago, since making it as an actress in their own right by starring in Euphoria, their ties to Prada aren't strictly new either. If you're a close follower of fashion, you'd know that they returned to the runway last season to walk Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons' Prada A/W 22 presentation alongside models like Kendall Jenner, Anok Yai and Kaia Gerber.

Reflecting Schafer's craft as an actor, Prada's Symbole campaign sees the Euphoria star completely transform, encompassing three different identities altogether. Relaying this unique transformation while also referencing Opie, Ruff and Weems' interpretation, Prada said in a press release: 'Opie's work revolves around the body and identity... her images seem to sculpt Schafer into a series of triangles, fusing woman and object, Ruff's reinterprets ready-made images, distorting and manipulating reality... (and) Weems connects her imagery to concepts of identity, representation, projection - notions of transformation and courage.'

Available in a variety of sizes, the Symbole bag features a new type of logo and is crafted from jacquard and Saffiano leather, boasting a stylish, and most importantly, geometric look. Distinctly modern, distinctly Prada.
