Raf Simons Reissues 100 Archive Pieces
Raf Simons has announced that he's reissuing 100 pieces from the Simons back catalogue under the name Archive Redux, in celebration of the brand's 25th anniversary. Given that archive Raf is hot property for collectors and on resale sites, this will be a welcome move for those without a cool few thousand in the bank and the spare time needed to hover around on Grailed needed to get their hands on the OG pieces. As the press release suggests, Archive Redux will give 'the new generation of Raf Simons followers a chance to experience these garments for the first time': certainly Simons' enduring popularity shows no sign of abating even a quarter of a century after the brand's inauguration.
Each piece has been selected as a 'pure creative decision', rather than following a schema or hierarchy, so shoppers can be sure that these are Simons' own personal highlights. Imagery of the reissued pieces will be released in July 2020, with it hitting stores in December this year.
For those looking forward to new season shopping, the Belgian designer has shifted slightly from the traditional menswear calendar and instead of showing as part of Paris Men's Fashion Week next week, the Raf Simons S/S 21 collection will be presented in Autumn 2020, to be delivered in Spring 2021.
