Maison Schiaparelli has released its new jewellery and handbag lines for Spring/Summer 21, under the artistic direction of Daniel Roseberry. Standout jewellery pieces include gold-plated impractical sunglasses, in which fake blue eyeballs obscure those of the wearer, gold moulds covering the lower half of the face and nose-shaped earrings with bull-ring piercings. If dripping in gold is your thing, Schiaparelli is the go-to brand for your party accessories.
Founded in 1927 by eponymous designer Elsa Schiaparelli, the house was best known in the early 20th century for its surrealist bent, with pieces that incorporated humour, eccentricity and elegance. Roseberry's S/S 21 collection recalls some of Elsa Schiaparelli's favourite icons: the padlock, the lobster and the elephant head.
Accompanying the jewellery are a new and extended line of bags: the Secret bag, the Sun bag and two new editions, incorporating surrealist bijoux elements like eyes, noses and lips.
