adidas' Stan Smith are joining forces for the second time with British designer and sustainability-warrior Stella McCartney, who has once again made her mark on the classic footwear staple. The Stella #StanSmith 2.0 follows on from the success of the first sell-out collaboration in September and as before will be leather-free and made from vegan materials.
Having previously let Keith Haring work his magic on the iconic Stan Smith design, adidas originals now hand the reigns to McCartney once more. The classic Stan Smith silhouette remains largely unchanged with a white leather upper and off-white midsole, however, laser-cut stars form the classic three-stripe pattern this time revealing rainbow hues set against the bright white body of the trainer as inspired by the designer's S/S 20 collection. Together with a set of interchangeable rainbow-coloured laces, Stella McCartney brings a playful edge to this collaboration and creates a joyous new design for the trainer lover. Launching across both men's and women's, the shoe features Stan Smith's portrait on the tongue of the left trainer whilst McCartney makes her mark on the right, with her logo also embedded on the trainer's lateral side. This vibrant, graphic iteration of the Stan Smith promises to make a particularly special Christmas gift at £235.
The Stella #StanSmith 2.0 launches in-store and online from 2 December, however, customers may sign up for early access from 27 December here.
