Fans of all things glittery will be excited to hear that crystal and jewellery masters Swarovski have appointed Giovanna Battaglia Engelbert as its first ever company-wide Creative Director.
Giovanna Battaglia Engelbert is an Italian creative director and international fashion editor with over 20 years of experience - streetstyle aficionados will recognise her and her colourful outfits from fashion weeks across the globe. Born and raised in Milan, Engelbert has worked with many global luxury brands, and has in fact been working with Swarovski's B2B division since 2016 on branding, design and content. Going forward, she will oversee the full creative direction of the company and reimagine the product portfolio across all divisions.
But when can we see her first designs? Spring/Summer 2021. Fingers crossed we will be able to get our hands on some of the @bat_gio signature dramatic elegance.
'For decades, Swarovski has been illuminating the world of fashion, design, entertainment, in general the whole creative industry. I am thrilled to be leading the creative vision of a cultural powerhouse like Swarovski in the future,' said Engelbert of her new position.
It's an exciting time for Swarovski, who are undergoing a strategy realignment. Robert Buchbauer, Swarovski's CEO, said: 'Our 125- year history is witness for the power of our company to transform and reinvent itself and I am pleased to welcome a brilliant creative mind and strong female leader like Giovanna to our company. With her remarkable track record in the industry and compelling point of view, she will explore new frontiers and become a vital part in writing the next chapter of our success story.'
