High-end fashion collections by male musicians are all the rage. Rapper Kid Cudi's very own Members of the Rage launched at Selfridges earlier this year after debuting in Paris, whilst as Pharrell Williams was annointed cultural conductor at Louis Vuitton men's. Over at Lanvin, the prestigious French luxury house, the first collection by the American rapper, singer and producer Future is revealed today.
In astrology, the placement of the planet Pluto is representative of self-reflection and change. Looking to their own transformational orbit, Lanvin's debut Lanvin Lab project launches today with Future, the Atlanta-born musician who takes Pluto as his nickname.
Pluto, as the unisex capsule collection is aptly titled, sees Future model denim dungarees embossed with the house logo, a black leather jacket embellished with a constellation of stars and chunky black sunglasses.
Future is joined in the campaign by model of the moment Amelia Gray. Photographed by Joshua Woods, Gray joins Future in a white music studio setting wearing chinos and a varsity style t-shirt, as AUX cords are strewn across the floor.
The collection, which drops in part today November 20 on Future's birthday, then in early 2024, also includes a redesign of the popular Curb 3.0 sneaker, belts, bags and hats.
'Jeanne Lanvin drew inspiration from her life and lifestyle. We are the same in that way, we create from experience', Future says.
