Ukrainian Filmmakers Celebrated at KyivMusicFilm
Whilst war rages, we must not let those oppressed around the world become faceless strangers who are in any way unlike ourselves. Curated in collaboration with KyivMusicFilm, Boiler Room are putting on a film festival celebrating Ukrainian filmmakers and culture, from underground raves to folk heritage and 70s funk.
Award-winning filmmakers Yarema Malashchuk and Roman Himey, Nariman Aliev, Ivan Mykolaychuk, Serhii Parajanov and Svitlana Shymko feature alongside independent short film and documentary makers Olena Newkryta, Nadia Parfan, Maria Stoianova, Oleksandr Kovsh, Anatoliy Sachivko and Yurii Shylov.
Money raised from £7 tickets will be donated to K41, Insight, Zgraya and Vostok SOS.
The entire programme will be broadcast commencing 5th May at 11:00 am EEST, with the films available to watch back individually for 1 week.
