As Valentino Garavani turns 90, Maison Valentino celebrates at the Teatro Sociale in Voghera, staging an exhibition dedicated to the beauty of Valentino's most iconic creations.
An exhibition to celebrate the 90th birthday of Valentino's founder, Valentino Garavani, is set to take place at the Teatro Sociale in Voghera from 11 May through to 5 June featuring 26 of the house's most lustrous designs. Open to the public, the installation will feature creations designed by Valentino stretching from the 1960s to the modern day with a collection of Valentino's iconic red dresses taking centre stage, lighting up the rest of the theatre. Alongside other monochrome pieces are studies, drawings, sketches, newspaper clippings, photographs, and documents that depict the spirit of the time in which the clothes made their debut and recreate, through brief anecdotes, how the world has received and perceived them.
In tandem with the occasion, Maison Valentino has conceived a limited-edition sweatshirt boasting the designer's renowned quote: 'I Love Beauty, It’s Not My Fault', a vivid approach that rings starkly true for Mr Valentino and his eponymous label who are both known to have defined a genre and personal idea of beauty over the last 60 years. The limited-edition hoodie will be sold online on Valentino.com with all net profits from donated to the Fondazione Valentino Garavani and Giancarlo Giammetti.
