June is synonymous with many things; often signifying the start of British summer and warm weather; the month is favoured by many far and wide. It also happens to be the month that hosts the annual Pride celebrations; a time when the LGBTQ+ community comes together in the name of love to celebrate one another and honour the 1969 Stonewall riots that paved the way for our freedom to love who we want without fear of being judged - or worse - killed.

London designer and ex-Spice Girl Victoria Beckham has always shown her solidarity for Pride, whether it be through the 90s Spice Girl lyrics she used to sing, always encouraging self-acceptance and self-love, or through her notable Victoria Beckham Limited t-shirt, released in support of Pride over the last few years. This year, for the third consecutive year in a row, Beckham will partner with Albert Kennedy Trust to create a one-off t-shirt with 100% of the profits going towards a charity that works to combat LGBTQ+ youth homelessness in the United Kingdom. Deciding to add to her Pride-inspired range the London-centric designer will also introduce the addition of a pouch wittily emblazoned with the lyrics Proud and Wannabe Your Lover - as much of an ode to Pride and love as it is to the Spice Girls song Wannabe, which was released 25 years ago this year.

Proclaiming her support for Pride and what the occasion means for her, Beckham said in a statement:

'Pride to me is a celebration of being completely yourself and this year's t-shirt is a reminder of that. The Spice Girls really championed accepting yourself and others, being kind, having fun and just living your best life! The LGBTQ+ community is so close to my heart, and I'm so proud to be supporting Pride 2021 with AKT again this year.'

No matter what your plans are for this June, after a year of self-isolation where love couldn't seem further away if it tried, celebrating the beauty, joy and freedom that comes with loving and living in the 21st century is definitely on the top of our list.

The Victoria Beckham Limited Pride 2021 T-shirt and Pouch are available from 9 June in-store at Dover Street market and online at victoriabeckham.com.
