Gucci is the brand that never sleeps. Dropping chapter two of their collaboration with The North Face just ahead of the New Year, the outerwear trend just got a makeover. For those of us who find ourselves in varying levels of lockdown, we can dream of exploration through the campaign which sees the Gucci gang roaming about the glaciers and green hills of Iceland - a clever play on the idea of self-discovery at the core of creative director Alessandro Michele's unapologetic and eclectic designs. Combining the outerwear expertise of The North Face and archive shapes such as the 90s Nuptse jacket and hiking boots with Gucci's double G monogram in vibrant orange and green colourways, the insulated puffer coats are a must-have winter warmer. At the end of the month, the house of Yves Saint Laurent will mark the 60th anniversary of the namesake designer's debut collection in January 1962. On January 29 through to May 15, six museums in Paris will be putting on a show, Yves Saint Laurent at the Museums, in honour of the house by celebrating different facets to the designer's work. Laurent's bending of gender codes, and the influence of designer and author Marcel Proust's work will be explored at the Musée d’Orsay. The infamous 1965 Mondrian dress collection is set to be installed with the original artworks which inspired them at the Pompidou Centre. Also involved is the Louvre who have focused on the influence of the decorative arts on the designer by drawing on their own collection, whilst as the Saint Laurent Museum will present items from the house archive to further reveal the designer's creative process. The Picasso Museum and the Paris Museum of Modern Art will also take part.

Do you believe in life after a long Christmas break? If not, then Cher as the face of UGG is the answer to your New Year's slumber. When it comes to Cher, it's All or Nothing, and not since Telfar did we think UGG could look, or feel, so good. Photographed in the warm throes of her home in Malibu, Cher joins a host of fellow icons including André Leon Talley and Iman in the brand's ongoing FEEL___ campaign, first launched in January 2021. We didn't know how much we needed this until now. Watch the campaign film here.

Get yourself to Louis Vuitton on the 20th of this month for their latest trainer release of the LV Runner Tatic, taken from the S/S 22 menswear collection designed by Virgil Abloh. Meticulously designed with both form and function in mind - typical of the late visionary designer - the trainer features a wave-shaped sole to enhance performance, although don't expect to see these collectables getting scuffed about. The upper features reflective Louis Vuitton Monogram flowers, available in five limited edition versions; blue, mocha and white colours or a monochrome black version, with a one-off green model also offered in Miami. As the King of the must-have trainer - think Abloh's brand's OFF-WHITE x Nike collaboration - this may be your last chance to get some original masterpieces by the artist.

Since Prada launched their Re-Nylon project in 2019, they've shown how a commitment to more sustainable fabrics doesn't mean falling short on good design. Recycling plastic waste from oceans and textile fiber waste, Re-Nylon is a Prada patented eco-friendly fabric, and has been used to reimagined iconic silhouettes such as the popular Prada re-edition 2005 nylon bag - which topped the Lyst index's hottest products. For their latest collaboration with adidas, they're introducing Re-Nylon in tandem with the iconic adidas Originals. Presenting ready-to-wear, accessories, bags and the adidas Forum high and low silhouettes, the latest collection is yet another collaboration signalling to luxury fashion's ongoing infatuation with sportswear. It launches globally on 13 January, and a metaverse friendly activation based on 'co-creation' has been teased - we're thinking AR filters and TikTok challenges are likely. Keep your eyes peeled.

The latest news from Dior, ahead of the menswear show in Paris later this month, comes in the form of the Dior Vibe bags. In-keeping with the Grecian theme of the Cruise 2022 show, staged last year in the Panathenaic Stadium in Athens, Maria Grazia Chiuri's sportiest collection yet finds its way amongst the ruins. The arm candy is a must have for the new year; the classic bowling bag being a highlight, with a rubber base inspired by sneaker soles and embossed with Monsieur Dior's lucky stars.
