Who's That Girl? Hari Nef Fronts JW Anderson A/W 22
Jonathan Anderson has tapped one of Hollywood's most engaging starlets to be not just a face of the JW Anderson A/W 22 collection, but to be the only face; not that you'd know it from the array of personas actress Hari Nef dons for the project.
Still photos of Nef were shot by Juergen Teller in studio before being blown up and sent out into the wilds of Milan on the sides of trucks and plastered across billboards, to be captured by Teller's lens once again, doubling down on the artifice and meta nature of performance.
In the photos, Nef is swathed in the cinema-inspired collection and is channeling the self-portraiture of American photographer Cindy Sherman, entering a proud lineage of artists who have made bad wigs look good. Before our eyes, Nef becomes the doe-eyed ingenue, the icy blonde, and a bigger-the-hair-closer-to-god diva.
For her final act of this Anderson show, Nef plays the daffy dame in the super cute fashion film, Falling for Fall, directed by documentarian Loic Prigent. The slapstick-flavoured short proves this gal can do it all, even her own stunts.
