Mikey (Singapore)

2/  an angel of no tomorrow - cassandra yap
london

3/  AS SOON AS LUST SWEPT OVER US, I SWORE THAT OUR LOVE WILL REMAIN FOREVER...    TONY KHEIRALLAH - BEIRUT, LEBANON

4/  The blue flower fills my vision, a shadow tattoo scented with spring. She is warm and with me.
I just want to be here with her.
I lick his neck it tastes of nectar his arms allow me room but I just want to be here with him.
We are pieces of this heaven.

-  Salwa Azar, London.

5/
Two daydreaming bodies,
joined at the hip.

Imagine us.
Oh the redness of your lip.

I’ll lick your neck,
you’ll grab my hair,

We hold on so tight,
For our daydream, we care.

Rupa Nolan.  Iksan, South Korea.

6/  The earth tries to swallow us
She clings to me like a butterfly or a wood fairy and I can't let her go.
He smells of bracken and bluebells, I lick his neck to make sure he's real.

7/  All over me. I grab her russet hair and turn my face so she licks my neck
and we play in the earth.
Like the bluebells, this won't last forever.
It'll do for now, it'll do.

8/  Shit, did i leave the kettle on?

9/  We're in the middle of nowhere, and I really need a piss.

10/  I can't take this, I know she won't stay. I linger with her for a while, and let her playfully lick my neck for old time's sake.
The flowers remind me that all things fade over time, her beauty, her smile, the way she wears clothes that make her seem transparent,
they'll all be someone elses one day.

12/  just found this translation:

It is a green hollow where a stream gurgles,
 Crazily catching silver rags of itself on the grasses;
Where the sun shines from the proud mountain:
It is a little valley bubbling over with light.

A young soldier, open-mouthed, bare-headed,
With the nape of his neck bathed in cool blue cresses,
Sleeps; he is stretched out on the grass, under the sky,
Pale on his green bed where the light falls like rain.

His feet in the yellow flags, he lies sleeping. Smiling as
A sick child might smile, he is having a nap:
Cradle him warmly, Nature: he is cold.

No odour makes his nostrils quiver;
He sleeps in the sun, his hand on his breast
At peace. There are two red holes in his right side.

Arthur Rimbaud  -  October 1870

Air....aromas...senses...light....a summer day as written
in a ' midnight's summer dream ' of  dreams....
travelling together...interlocked in the essence of
the moment as if watching constellations moving deep
under the skin.......

One in one.....space.....time....clouds above in the
skies... tasting and smelting to the nectar of your soft
and silky skin warmed by the chemistry of fusing hearts
in the ecstasy of dreams..........

A summer day....a bed of  flowers... sweet aromas
floating freely as offered by mother earth intoxicating the
senses with captivating air while encapsulating our
bodies in a golden sun like dream....blessed-full
surrounded in an  aura of love and passion with  its
sensual desires and playful dreams of whims....

........And in an instant while looking into the space and
distance that connects our moment of rapture.... I then remember
that day when the first magic spell used its embrace....
the moment when the heart fells under the ever for ever
lasting spell taken it away to an undreamed dimension
of constellations where looking back has no beginning
and where looking back has no real end.... but just
the memory of happiness when happiness only seems
to last for ever fast to never end.....proving that
the taste of the intoxicating elixir..... will never
ever cease to end........

Traces of rebellion on soft white jeans and a clenched fist in her hair mark the male character as bravado, a transgressor,
yet his gaze follows the sweet song of bluebells.  A pierced and vaginal motifplays out on the whimsical cladding of the
female character, her hair forms arabesques on her jaw line and her eyes are closed, all highly suggestive of a deep penetration
into herself even in the slack arms of others.  The subjects are clearly not in love.

17/
Yet each man kills the thing he loves
By each let this be heard,
Some do it with a bitter look,
Some with a flattering word,
The coward does it with a kiss,
The brave man with a sword!

Some kill their love when they are young,
And some when they are old;
Some strangle with the hands of Lust,
Some with the hands of Gold:
The kindest use a knife, because
The dead so soon grow cold.

Some love too little, some too long,
Some sell, and others buy;
Some do the deed with many tears,
And some without a sigh:
For each man kills the thing he loves,
Yet each man does not die.

She responds.

I allow her to be with me.

We are one.

my text(also attached):

So, a couple, a leisurely pash in a late summer copse, beneath bluebell sprigs and the splayed tongues
of ferns, splitting the crabbed leaves, bugs rattling in the bracken and doubtless somewhere the low
smacking sound of lean, slack-lipped horses cropping grass is audible. Maybe ˆ why not? ˆ there are
even batteries of larks spilling, from branches all around, hymns to human tendresse and the idle and
pleasant pastime of al fresco fucking.

Shirtless and stubbly, the boy, lids aflutter, barely parted, grasps a clutch of the girl‚s rubied hair with
one ringed hand, and with the other hand, at the end of a forearm wired with charcoal floss, cups the
frocked arse of the girl, who, flushed and rapt, is gladly lapping w/ a pink tongue at his neck and face,
her body folded into his, his knee buckled, sighing. Pools of milk-coloured sunlight tint their bodies
here and there and her filigreed and petalled belt is the doppelganger of the nodding blooms spotted
about. Oblivious to smears, nicks and ditchmuck they do their Arcadian thing and how very fetching it
is too.

another moment escapes and escapes through homeless gestures,
homeless arms and legs. i look away and still there. still there the
moment escapes between the green the red the pulsating color of the
morning. another place to be called heaven haven have you dissolved
into something else yet? i exchange the word time for your tongue and
it passes slowly it renders me obsolete and i am another fallen leave
a wooden log  stepped ground falling out of tongue counting tongues
go by. another name for being another name for being another name for
forest for cutting for dripping pink skin. i search another name.
here the overbearing presence of the world the fantastic
pyrotechnical world of inflamed will. there the strong voices of the
ground the ethereal and whispered shadows crying this is not enough
this is a moment this is not you this is another yet another image
and gone. i grasp for whatever is in between and what i find is the
fluidity of your body held together by a fabric that is not you nor
outside you. and the ground keeps on howling.

All the world’s efforts
In tiny places
Reside.
Forest floor
Next to honest skin
As we blend in seamlessly
With that around us.

Pale and speckled light
Plays its unheard song
As her fiery hair
In my hand
Willingly tangles.

My lover’s familiar scent
Mingles with earth centuries old
As we gladly take our part
In the grand order of things.

With each new day
the morning’s frost surrenders,
never tiring of the ceaseless rehearsal.
Ours too is one of constance
Each time she looks at me, anew.

Warm and tender scrapes fall into
Precious captured fumbling
Here amongst the bluebell and fern.

“Our futures graze upon this land, ripened by condemned command”

The viewer is enticed by the charm of enchantment offered from such connotations of fairy tale romance.
But as you are drawn into the image you are immersed in semiotic reasoning. Beyond the heterosexual act
of love and embracement, questions of time, place and future abound the audience. I found myself curbed
in thoughts of the forbidden, secrecy, infused with revolutionary dreaming. The scene is set in a world
where all men are mere objects possessing identical psychological traits. Man’s uniqueness, identity and
conscience are removed, for totalitarianisms wellbeing. A ruling party that relishes absolute power over
the people and the land they live in.

If you visualize the image as three layers A, B and C with light being the element that intertwines them
together. Layer A is referring to an area on the left side of the image. The leaves are dry touched by
age and decay. There pale orange color diminishes any hope of contrast, creating a void of emptiness that
has a two dimensional quality about it. It’s although the leaves and dried foliage is a representation of
nature in its most flaccid state something that appears dull and not warranting attention. Not an area of
freshness and vitality which would provoke the passer by to gain interest in it. Instead it projects the
feeling nature should be discarded and seen as a hindrance not worth tasting. So with this idea of nature
being valueless I envisage that anything considered natural would be frowned upon. A ruling power that has
developed a society of humans stripped of many of their natural qualities. Abilities to think and express
one’s conscience are non existent in this race. The human has become a customized cog, living and dying for
the cause. If all natural things are deemed evil the act of sex must surely be banished, leading to ideas of
scientifically produced babies with identical genetic structures.

Yet in layer B (two subjects) we see two humans embracing one another in the secluded darkness. Is this an
act of defiance? Are they hiding? Are they even allowed to touch elements of conventional nature? The scene
portrays a moment when a diverse set of events simultaneously occur. Are we the audience viewing from a
hidden camera belonging to the ruling party?  Are the two subjects forbidden to be there? Have they triggered
a security light? The artificial light radiates a feeling of surveillance, that we are watching something
private and shouldn’t be. Yet in an age where we are encouraged that it’s acceptable to watch others
(fly on the wall documentaries) the feeling is lessoned. Despite being exposed they do not panic instead they
appear to embrace one another as if life is nothing without each other and they have developed ego from there
act of defiance. The emphasis of their togetherness incorporates unification and power in natural bonding .
The woman with fiery red hair (suggesting a powerful Boudica character) continues to express desire towards the
man even though she has been caught deifying the authorities. Her dress is delicate and the flowers that adorn
it are of stark contrast to the already described dull ground beside her. The man is distracted by the beauty
of a simple bluebell lit brightly by the artificial light. Has he never seen, touched nature like this? Maybe
it was too dangerous for him to show curiosity into something that the party deems evil. But now in this moment
of realization amidst the bright light he can identify nature in its purest form. In this moment where he has
defied the authorities by embracing another human through natural desire, where he is caught in a forbidden
place involved in a banished activity, he starts to notice how he has been oppressed to think, act and believe.
This is the moment when he can no longer bare to be without what he has only recently discovered nature and his
own conscience. Through his rapidly growing ego (developed thorough his recent acts of defiance) he starts
revolutionary thinking of a different world. As he gazes at the blue bell he wonders what is possible if such
a fragile beauty can grow against such odds.

The third layer consists of the area to the right of the man and woman. A wave of dense vegetation, vitality,
energy and natural power looks down on the pensive man. It represents the ideas of change, hope and psychological
liberty that have flourished inside the subject’s head. This is the moment when he the individual has the
potential to sow his ideas and use the crop to nourish and feed a population of conscious less people. The
wave is going to crash and wash the land of its ignorance. Like a chain reaction, the uranium has been split
and the potential for change is colossal. These are the type of moments that have sunken monarchs, religious
doctrines and corrupt nobles over the course of history._Authorities suppress psychological freedom of the
individual because of the damage that could occur from those who are tired of serving the system. Not everyone
is washed thoroughly in the authorities’ doctrines and can’t prevent natural demands and needs (reproduce emotions).
‘Ripened in condemned commands’ in the image we are witnessing the moment when two subjects who have natural
impulses are embracing, disobeying the laws, being caught by authority (security light, camera) and further defying
the system by dreaming of change, rebelling prompting a revolution. All this energy of future events is shown in this
churning wave of natural growth. Nature being the element missing in the present population is what has enabled the
ruling party to have absolute dominance. It is people like those featured in the image that  protect their conscience
and uniqueness as an individual, in doing so cause big and small waves around the world where different people can be
washed away to the places they are naturally meant to be.

Naoko Ishibashi, Tokyo JAPAN
