Project: Dated Image Created by Fecal Matter As much as it was a complete honour for us to style and shoot a gown by John Galliano, we couldn’t help but realize that it’s still just a gown. It’s beautiful and impeccably made, but we hated the fact that wearing it was still so current. It was made in 1994 and we are in 2017. Not much has really changed. There are not many options out there for those who are interested in wearing non-garments. As designers, we feel trapped sometimes, as we also create gowns. It feels as though mass society will never want to put away their jean shorts or prom dresses. It feels like magazine covers will always need an eye catching red dress to attract consumers. Tumblr has profited from society’s dependence on revisiting the past. Nostalgia is holding us back from achieving a brand new vision of life.
