Install is nearly complete. This detail from Gallery 2 shows clothing from New Power Studio a fashion brand set up in 2009 by Thom Murphy and Ebru Ercon. An in depth interview with Thom will be available to watch on SHOWstudio today. In the background are a series of portraits by Jason Evans shot in Manchester, Sheffield and Newcastle from 1995-2001 when he worked as a casting scout.
Another great research resource is the magazine collection at University of Central Lancashire in Preston. I studied there and having access to pretty much all the issues of the magazine like The Face and i-D was amazing. We have some scans of articles relating to themes of the show on display in Gallery 2. i-D, April 1991
Gallery 3 features all the interview films with key fashion figures that grew up in the North of England. This is a small section of the room designed by Tony Hornecker where you can watch Simon Foxton’s film about growing up in Berwick-upon-Tweed
