Artist and Designer Úna Burke discusses her work and inspirations, and SHOWstudio's Prosthetics exhibition with curator Niamh White.

Inspired by our SHOWcabinet: Prosthetics exhibition, Marie Schuller teamed up with artist Una Burke to explore movement and restriction.

The term 'prosthetic' is now attributed to the branch of surgery dedicated to replacing missing or defective limbs, but to the Ancient Greeks it was an altogether more assertive concept meaning 'to add', 'to advance' or 'to give power to'.
