Judith Watt is a writer and fashion historian, and the author of Alexander McQueen: Fashion Visionary and Vogue On: Elsa Schiaparelli, published in autumn 2012 by Goodman Books and Quadrille respectively. Her other books include Ossie Clark, 1965-1974 (V&A Publications 2003), The Penguin Book of Twentieth Century Fashion Writing (Penguin, 1999) and Dogs in Vogue (Little, Brown 2009).

She took an MA in the History of Dress at the Courtauld Institute of Art and taught the history of fashion to Fashion Communication and Promotion BA students at Central Saint Martins between 1998 and 2022 where she taught the likes of Ib Kamara, Gareth Wrighton and more. She is a contributor to Vogue and Acne Paper, and comments on fashion and its history for radio and television. In 2012, she contributed a chapter on fashion and ‘glam’ – c.1968-1975 – for Tate Liverpool’s Glam: The Performance of Style exhbition.
