Karen Binns is a New Yorker who has worked in the fashion industry for over 20 years. She began her career in the arts, working as a muse to the legendary artist, Jean Michel Basquiat. Other than hosting celebrity Downtown NY nights, with guest lists consisting of painters, photographers, actors and writers, Binns created the first of moving warehouse parties called 'Soulboys'. 
 
Binns has previously studied and worked for designer Andre Walker’s Paris catwalk shows for several seasons. She was also the Creative Director for Tori Amos where she art directed and styled all of Amos's campaigns, videos and shows. 
 
As fashion editor, Binns has worked for the UK based magazines, True and Untold and as a freelance editor, she has worked for publications including Dazed and Rolling Stone. She currently has her own UK based pop art journal called What?
 
She has also worked as a creative consultant for designers such as Kanye West, Sandra Rhodes, Ashish, Maharishi and Bernard Chandran. Binns has contributed to numerous panels on fashion, pop culture, the arts and diversity, including at the V&A, MASTERED and Lulu Kennedy.
