Waris Ahluwalia is an Indian jewellery designer, actor and explorer. Born in 1975 in Amritsar, India, he later immigrated with his family to America at the age of five. He grew up in Brooklyn and currently divides his time between India and New York.
Through his company, House of Waris, Ahluwalia sells his luxury jewellery; one of a kind pieces which are handcrafted in India. In 2009, he was nominated for the Vogue/CFDA Fashion Fund and later awarded a CFDA/NYCEDC Fashion Incubator grant. In 2010, he was inducted as an official member of the CFDA.
The same year, Ahluwalia was placed on Vanity Fair's Best Dressed List, anointed British GQ's second best dressed man internationally and included in Vogue's 10 Most Impactful people list. Sharing his experiences as a style icon, he pens the column 'Love & Waris' on Style.com.
Ahluwalia's film credits include I Am Love, where he starred alongside Tilda Swinton, and Inside Man with Denzel Washington and Jodie Foster.
