Ashish was founded by London-based, Delhi-born designer Ashish Gupta. After studying Fine Art in Delhi, Gupta completed his MA in Fashion Design at Central Saint Martins in 2000. Gupta later ventured to Paris with the intention of working in a design studio in the French capital. However, when his entire portfolio of work was stolen, Gupta instead began quietly making clothes for friends ,until being spotted by Yeda Yun of Browns Focus, who placed his first order in 2001. With Gupta’s mix of Western and Eastern influences, Ashish designs blend sportswear, high-octane glamour and craftsmanship.
Ashish has won the NEWGEN Award three times and has been exhibited in the V&A and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
