Loewe Brings Howl’s Moving Castle To Life In Final Studio Ghibli Collab
Whether an anime fan or not there is no denying the magic of Studio Ghibli films. In the last few years, no one in fashion has been inspired by the magic more than Loewe creative director Jonathan Anderson who has previously plucked the iconic imagery of Spirited Away and My Neighbour Totoro for collaborations that have become instant grails. Well, the Irish designer is back for one final partnership, this time creating a capsule all about Hayao Miyazaki’s Howl’s Moving Castle.
The capsule collections sees some of the Spanish brand's signature styles adorned by the loveable characters of Miyazaki's classic animated film. From the adorable fireball Calcifer to headstrong protagonist Sophie, the entire cast is splashed on vibrant shirts and iconic bags like the Puzzle and Hammock.
To accompany the release, Loewe has partnered up with Selfridges, taking over their iconic concept space The Corner Shop. In the ultimate immersive experience Selfridges' Dolly's Cafe will be transformed into Calcifer's Kitchen offering a unique dining experience for Selfridges customers. Loewe has commissioned French culinary and events studio Balbosté to create an exclusive menu inspired by the mouth-watering scenes in the film. From vermicelli broomsticks to cloud terrines, the experience hopes to capture all the magic of its inspiration.
Loewe x Howl’s Moving Castle opens at Selfridges London from 1st to 25th of February.
