Jefferson Hack

Editorial Director

Jefferson Hack is the editorial director and publisher of Dazed Group; creative director of MAD Agency London; and influential video website Nowness. His pioneering work over the past 20 years–co-founding iconic magazines Dazed & Confused, AnOther Magazine, Another Man and subsequently DazedDigital.com and Anothermag.com– has been credited with constantly innovating the cutting edge of journalism, film, photography, television and digital media.

In 1992, whilst studying at the London College of Printing, he co-founded Dazed & Confused with fellow student, the photographer Rankin. Dazed & Confused is now an internationally recognised magazine, with sister versions in Japan and Australia. Hack launched the bi-annual fashion and arts title AnOther Magazine in 2001. In October 2005, he also added the magazine title AnOtherMan to the independent publishing house; 2020 saw the latter subsumed into AnOther. His work as a journalist and writer includes interviewing Patti Smith, Julie Christie, Bono and Björk. Hack launched the website and 'ideas sharing network' DazedDigital.com in Autumn 2006.

In addition to the Dazed Group projects, in 2012 Hack launched MAD Agency London: a creative consultancy with a boutique approach to the ideation of premium advertising for print, outdoor and digital campaigns.
