Craig Lawrence

Fashion Designer

Knitwear designer Craig Lawrence first showed his line of experimental and often extreme knits at London Fashion Week in A/W 09. Drawing on decadence and decay, Lawrence looks at nostalgic British peculiarities such as the classic seaside town, and refracts them into his shredded and idiosyncratically-proportioned silhouettes.

Producing knits for Gareth Pugh in his first six seasons, Lawrence's eponymous collection won NewGen sponsorship for the sixth consecutive season for S/S 12. Lawrence's designs have appeared in leading fashion publications worldwide, notably the cover of AnOther Magazine's S/S 09 issue featuring Tilda Swinton. They have been worn by a number of musicians including Bjork, Lady Gaga and Patrick Wolf. Lawrence also produced a number of custom garments for Skin of Skunk Anansie for the band's European tour.
