Emmanuelle Dirix

Emmanuelle Dirix is a cultural theorist, lecturer, writer and curator who specialises in fashion.

In the past 20 years she has lectured at various institutions including Central Saint Martins, London College of Fashion, MMU and the Royal College of Art and since 2009 she has been head of historic & contextual studies at the Antwerp Fashion Academy. 

Dirix has a variety of both academic and popular publications to her name with her most recent works including Balenciaga (Wellbeck) Dressing the Decades (Yale University press), High Fashion (T&H) and several academic journal articles for Film, Fashion & Consumption, Fashion Theory Russia and Clothing Cultures

In addition to her academic and curatorial engagements, she works as a freelance fashion branding and communications consultant for the luxury industry.
