Madeline Fontaine is a costume designer, Nominated for the 2017's Best Costume Design Oscar and BAFTA Awards for her work on Pablo Larraín's film Jackie, her career spans over 30 years. Fontaine's work includes a long-term collaboration with Jean-Pierre Jeunet, starting with the successful Amélie in 2000, followed by A Very Long Engagement, (also with Audrey Tautou as lead actress) plus other films and commercials. Fontaine also worked with Wong Kar Wai on a short film/commercial, Déjà vu.
Her work for Jalil Lespert's Yves Saint Laurent was a visual and stylistic triumph that engaged the YSL Foundation and Pierre Bergé himself. She was also responsible for the wardrobe for the TV series Versailles, in which she adapted 17th century fashions to today's bodies, while being faithful to the historical imagery and spirit of the era. Her work on Jackie won her the Broadcast Film Critics Association Award for Best Costume Design, and other nominations including France's César.
