Marco Rea

Illustrator

Marco Rea was an artist, born in November 1975 in Rome, where he lives and works. His work has become known as representative of Italian Lowbrow/New Contemporary art.

Rea's artworks are made with spray cans and are the result of the reinterpretation of already existing images; advertising posters are carefully altered until they only just resemble their original form, appearing like that of a secret soul, dark and melancholic.

Rea has featured in articles and interviews in magazines such as Juxtapoz (USA), HiFructose (USA), Urban Graffiti (USA), GQ (Italy), Velvet (Italy), Fecal Face (USA), Inside Art (It.), Mousetouch (Serbia), Cuadrivio (Messico), Black Light (Czech Republic), Fluster Magazine (Italy), and more.

His art work has been exhibited in many important European and American galleries together with the most important artists of street art and Pop Surrealism art.
