Brazilian-born Raquel Zimmermann has been a prominent face in fashion for over a decade. Born in 1983, she was discovered at the age of 14 by a scout in her hometown, Novo Hamburgo. Her early modelling career took her to Tokyo and Paris before landing her on the cover of Italian Vogue in 2000, shot by Steven Meisel.
Zimmermann has featured in shows and campaigns of designers including Balenciaga, Dior, Dolce & Gabbana, Emanuel Ungaro, Hermès, Louis Vuitton, Lanvin, Max Mara, Prada, Valentino and MAC beauty. She was the face of the Spring 2009 advertising campaigns of Oscar de la Renta and Marc Jacobs and starred in Gucci’s inaugural television commercial directed by David Lynch. Covers have included i-D, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle and more recently Numéro, Self Service and American Vogue. Zimmermann currently lives in New York.
