Susanne Tide-Frater is a retail and luxury specialist. A graduate of the Sorbonne and the Institut Francais de la Mode, Paris, Tide-Frater went on to gain experience in textile and clothing as Paris Bureau Chief for the German Marketing Institute. She also worked in strategy development and trend forecasting in companies including Peclers, Paris, and the Institut Francais de la Mode, Paris where she worked as Head of Department, Design Management and Head of International Relations. A persistent hunter of new ideas, Tide-Frater applies the energy she finds in visiting new places and observing people to her working practice.
Tide-Frater was Head of Creative Direction at Selfridges in London 1996-2004, then moved to take on the same post for Harrods 2004-2007. Since then she has been self-employed, during which time she was then fashion director at Victoria Beckham 2008-2016, and also worked at Farfetch 2010-2019. Since 2015, she has been a member of the Browns directors board.
