Waris Ahluwalia is an Indian jewellery designer, actor and explorer. Born in 1975 in Amritsar, India, he later immigrated with his family to America at the age of five. He grew up in Brooklyn and currently divides his time between India and New York.
Through his company, House of Waris, Ahluwalia sells his luxury jewellery; one-of-a-kind pieces which are handcrafted in India. In 2009, he was nominated for the Vogue/CFDA Fashion Fund and later awarded a CFDA/NYC EDC Fashion Incubator grant. In 2010, he was inducted as an official member of the CFDA. The same year, Ahluwalia was placed on Vanity Fair's Best Dressed List, anointed British GQ's second best dressed man internationally and included in Vogue's 10 Most Impactful people list. Ahluwalia's film credits include I Am Love, where he starred alongside Tilda Swinton, Inside Man with Denzel Washington and Jodie Foster. Ahluwalia has worked with the director Wes Anderson on a number of films, including The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, Darjeeling Limited, and The Grand Budapest Hotel.
