Continuing the ethos of AZ Factory, the fashion incubator founded by late designer Alber Elbaz, which champions 'smart fashion that cares' and 'love, trust, and respect' - ideals the industry needs now more than ever - they have appointed their first Amigo. The Amigo concept brings together the resources of AZ Factory with independent talents to experiment with design.
And the first Amigo to join? That would be Thebe Magugu, the young South African designer who helms his own namesake label. Magugu creates sleek collections drawing on the world around him; case in point was his capsule Doublethink collection presented at January's Pitti Uomo.
Inspired by corruption in South Africa, and the resolute journalists who expose it, suffice to say Magugu has a crystal clear vision of the power of fashion. It will be thrilling to see what his designs for AZ Factory will look like, stay tuned to their Instagram for more.
