Browns East Houses the Dior and sacai Capsule Collection

After five months of patiently waiting since it was announced last June that Kim Jones and Dior Men's would be partnering with sacai's Chitose Abe to design a capsule collection, the collaboration's offering has finally arrived in Browns East, showcased through a bespoke installation encompassing the entire ground floor of the two-storey luxury boutique. Although Abe and Jone's friendship can be traced way back, their collaboration on the other hand, cannot - as this capsule collection marks a first for the pair.

Carefully merging the identities and aesthetics of Dior and sacai, the setting paves the way for ideas of duality to exist in harmony; wood is contrasted against concrete as sacai house codes and signatures are blended with Dior's. Just as immersive and all-encompassing as the luxury space itself, the capsule collection bears witness to two designers, heritages and cultures unifying to become one, exemplified through a newly designed logo which sees the name 'sacai' within the 'I' of Dior. The clothes designed as part of this collection also mirror this unique fusion as garments combine Dior tailoring with sacai's sportswear hallmarks - just as the French house's skill is married with the Japanese brand's penchant for technicality.

Berets - courtesy of Stephen Jones - are reworked, and utilitarian-style denim is used throughout (certainly the pervading overtone which also reflects sacai's Japanese heritage). Dior overcoats are given a fresh lease of life by drawing upon fabrics from the sacai universe. The black and white colour palette breathes a sense of minimalism into the collection through refined shades intentionally reminiscent of a mid-century fashion photograph brought to life.

The Dior and sacai capsule collection will be available from 11 November to 21 November at Browns East in Shoreditch.
