While Dame Vivienne Westwood will never be replaced, her legacy is in good hands with her son Joe Corré and granddaughter Cora Corré. As key figures of The Vivienne Westwood Foundation (the non-profit built on the founding principles: halt climate change, stop war, defend human rights and protest capitalism), the father-daughter duo are keeping the designer’s spirit for protest alive by spearheading initiatives to raise awareness on causes she held dearly. The latest see’s The Vivienne Westwood Foundation team up with cult-favourite vintage specialist Byronesque on a curation of Westwood holy grails.

‘This is sustainability in action’, Joe Corré, director of the Foundation explains of the partnership. As one of the biggest polluters in the world, shopping second-hand is a surefire way to combat the fashion industry's waste problem. Plus, with garments ranging from 1974 to 2017, the expertly curated drop showcases the longevity of good design with styles like original 'Seditionaires' jumpers being certified collector's items.

Understanding the value of archival Westwood garments, each piece in the collection has been professionally appraised with buyers being supplied with certificates of authenticity. Taking steps against replicas Byronesque will also provide information on each garment through their blockchain system. ‘This will not only provide peace of mind for buyers and sellers but also offer some insight and provenance for the purchased item’, Corré explains. Most importantly, 100% of profits from each sale will go towards raising money for The Vivienne Westwood Foundation.

The drop also features an editorial starring Cora Corré dubbed ‘Tomorrow Is Too Late’. The images shot by Frederike Helwig and styled by Katy England feature Corré decked out in the collection doing everyday tasks around London from waiting for the bus to ordering at her local chippy. Capturing the punk spirit of Westwood the editorial also highlights how Corré is keeping that spirit alive. ‘So do it today. Don’t wait till tomorrow. It gives people a sense of empowerment to not feel so helpless. The decisions you can make on a daily basis can make a difference. Tomorrow is too late. Start today.’ Corré says in the accompanying interview with Byronesque.
