Today, Saturday 18 January 2020, Dior is unveiling a pop-up boutique in London department store, Harrods to showcase the brand's collaboration with luxury luggage specialist RIMOWA. The new Dior space will be available to visit through until 2 February 2020 and will be home to a real helicopter clad in RIMOWA’s signature aluminium grey, whose cockpit and seats will be upholstered in the Dior Oblique canvas created by Marc Bohan in 1967.
The collaboration has a cloud theme–reflecting the view from the window while flying, rather apt for a luggage collab–and the recognisable RIMOWA aluminium has been rendered colourful rather than the usual silver, with Dior Oblique logo pattern accents. The collection sees new versions of the Cabin and Trunk suitcases, as well as the Hand Case hand luggage and the Personal clutch. For those who travel by private jet and don't have to abide by airport liquids rules there is a special Dior and RIMOWA Champagne Case, designed to hold one bottle of champagne and six Dior Maison champagne flutes.
