We all know that Kim Jones is a sucker for an artist collaboration, and over on his Instagram @mrkimones, he's recently been going through the roster of names he's brought with him to Dior men's since S/S 19. Kaws, Amoaka Boafo, Shawn Stussy, Daniel Arsham and Kenny Scharf are amongst those who've been invited to give their take on the storied house, all the while keeping us wanting more. This morning, Dior announced that the British-Scottish artist Peter Doig will be putting his spin on things for A/W 21.
Jones has a penchant for contemporary art (he's an avid collector), and Doig comes with a reputation to match. He's a figurative painter, and has lived in Trinidad since 2002. We've been told to take note of the painter's use of colour, his dabbles into photography and cinema, and his art works in terms of the relationship between mankind and nature. Jones, who grew up travelling from place to place with his family, is outspoken on his love of nature and his travels are a frequent point of reference. Here's hoping that Dior Men's A/W 21 will take us on a much needed escape to the sunnier climes of Trinidad.
Stay tuned on SHOWstudio for the show next week, 13:00 Friday 22 January.
