Grace Wales Bonner Named as Guest Designer For Pitti Immagine Uomo 102

Grace Wales Bonner is a designer who has led the charge for a new wave of British fashion talent. Winning the LVMH Young Designer Prize in 2016, the menswear designer has gone on to expand into womenswear, and is lauded for expanding the notions of tailoring and luxury, infusing European heritage with an Afro Atlantic spirit drawn from her Jamaican heritage. Her work was also spotlit for the recent fashion exhibition Fashioning Masculinities: The Art of Menswear at the V&A in London.

Now, following in the footsteps of fashion greats including Jil Sander and Rick Owens, Wales Bonner has been announced as the next guest designer for the men's trade show in Florence, Pitti Imagine Uomo, showing her S/S 23 collection with a fashion show. 'I welcome this special opportunity to express Wales Bonner’s vision of cultural luxury at the historically important institution of Pitti Uomo', the designer said in a statement.
