Homme Plissé Issey Miyake has opened its first flagship store in Minami-Aoyama, Tokyo. Designed by renowned artist Tokujin Yoshioka, the space takes on a minimalistic aesthetic with exposed concrete walls and beams.

The store will feature a pleating machine, as found in the factory, which will allow customers to see the unique pleating method called ‘seihin pleats’. Available exclusively at the new store are limited edition long-sleeve t-shirts, under the COLOURS title, made with the pleating machine in the store. Also available are the colourful BLOCK garments from the latest collections.

Through this new store the brand aims to connect closer with its clientele by bringing some of the ‘monozukuri no gemba’ (workshop) to the public for the first time.

A must visit for fans of the iconic pleat.
