Naomi Campbell Plays House in New Lanvin Campaign
Being house-bound has never looked as good as in Lanvin's vision for S/S 22 featuring the incomparable Naomi Campbell, who closed out the season's runway show last October.
Playing on the tropes of founder Jeanne Lanvin's designs, current creative director Bruno Sialelli updates the embroidered 1930s Concerto evening dress for now and has created the Hobo Cat bag, inspired by the feline guardians of the fireplace in Mme Lanvin’s library. Sialelli also uses the house signature fabric, silk jersey, to create an elegant draped dress at the core of the collection. This delicate ease is captured in campaign imagery which uses an elevated yet cozy domestic scene as a backdrop for Campbell.
Shot by Luis Alberto Rodriguez, we see Campbell reclining in this season's Lanvin pieces, at ease and fully in her power. The sumptuous, inviting campaign is following hot on the heels of Campbell's recent reveal of her baby daughter on the cover of British Vogue and feels very of a piece with the image of the icon in her 50s: graceful, strong, and sensitive.
