Sweet

Launched on 10 November 2000

Here's something we made earlier… In one of Nick Knight’s earliest experiments with 3-D imaging technologies, the photographer used a CT head scanner to capture stylist Jane How’s sweetie-wrapper recreations of Spring/Summer 2000 ready-to-wear collections. The gentle naivety of the confectionery packaging is intentionally offset against the latest cutting edge technology, with its malevolent sci-fi connotations. How’s elaborate pieces included interpretations of garments by designers such as Hussein Chalayan, Comme des Garçons, Thierry Mugler and Yohji Yamamoto. These truly one-off looks were examined in a series of images, an essay by Susannah Frankel and a fashion film set to a music box soundtrack by Fridge.
