If we had to focus on a musical aspect of today’s DVF show I would very much rather we chose Diane von Furstenberg’s finale walk-of-all-walks to Billy Joel crooning – what else? – She’s Always a Woman, than the show’s looping track, which Shazam informed me to be The Weekend’s contribution to the Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack, charmingly titled Earned It. But then, apparently Diane is obsessed with it so, that’s that.

Seduction was the theme of this collection. Kendall Jenner opened the show, her hair pulled back in a slightly messy chignon, wearing a white wrap dress with its back in contrasting black lace, and polka dot tights (very Diane at Studio 54). The black lace continued on ribbon-wrapped shirt dresses, the side panels of a slip dress, or flocked by swallows on the bust of another. It was the most sensuous and perhaps seductive of the lot. The pinstripes were interesting when clashed against a mixed print frilly dress, and the sequin embroidery on Fei Fei Sun’s floral wrap dress was rather sweet. Seduction is about attitude and an endless supply of French polka dot sheer tights. If the end goal is to leave it all on the floor, does it matter?
