Illustrator

Jowy Maasdamme (b. 1982) is a self-taught illustrator.

After completing her Master of Law and working at different firms, Maasdamme followed her passion for illustration, using it as her means of self expression.

The artist primarily works with raw materials such as ink and pencil which has lent to her developing a monochromatic style often focuseing on contorting and exaggerating form and lines to create dramatic poses.

Since launching herself as a freelance artist, Maasdamme’s work has been exhibited internationally at SHOWstudio, MuseoABC in Madrid) and The Mass in Tokyo. Her clients include Nai Palm, Tiffany & Co, Scotch & Soda, Blend Magazine, Bass Culture Magazine, Paper Magazine, Converse, Cause & Effect Magazine and InStyle.
