Riccardo Tisci

Fashion Designer

Riccardo Tisci is a fashion designer born in Taranto, Italy. Tisci has been the Chief Creative Officer at Burberry since February 2017.

Tisci was awarded a scholarship to attend Central Saint Martins, from which he graduated in 1999. Since then he has worked for Puma, Antonio Berardi and Ruffo Research before launching his own label in 2004. Tisci was named creative director for Givenchy ready-to-wear, haute couture and accessories in 2005 and took over the menswear division in 2008. Tisci's Gothic sensibility and his love for religion informed his creations for Givenchy, giving the house a unique identity in twenty-first century fashion that garnered international press acclaim and increased sales, including haute couture where client numbers have soared from five to twenty-nine during his tenure.

In 2011, Tisci guest curated the issue of A Magazine and guest-edit Visionaire’s ‘Religion’ issue. In 2013, Tisci has worked alongside many celebrities, having dressed Rihanna for her Diamonds World Tour and Beyoncé and Jay-Z on their On the Run Tour. Tisci has collaborated on three separate occasions with Nike on a collection of shoes and sportswear apparel.

Under Tisci's creative direction, Burberry's revenues have increased significantly. Tisci, along with legendary art director Peter Saville, has spearheaded the redesign of the Burberry logo, bringing the historic brand into the 21st century with a new, fresh look.
